Following the Grid Systems in Graphic Design project, this is the second design by Josef Müller-Brockman that I'm recreating for Grid Experiments.
As a personal note, the community college graphic design education I acquired never taught me a thing about the classic designers (which even five years after finishinig the program I am still salty about), and from what I'm reading online about Müller-Brockmann, his grid theories are often taught in university design courses.
If you'd like to read about Müller-Brockmann and his work, I really enjoyed this blog post from French branding agency Graphéine, it features a lot of examples of his work and even has a photo of him working with Paul Rand on a project for IBM in the 60s.
Anyway, the design on this page is not pixel perfect to the poster, but I am proud of how I was able to make it responsive, so it looks great on everything down to the size of an iPhone 5. I'm also unable to find much information online about this specific design, but I'm assuming it's a poster to promote some kind of classical music event in 1957, if anyone knows anything about this poster, I'm curious to know more so please contact me with any information if you have it.
